URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT*
Following discussion, the SGHC Committee has taken the hard decision to cancel the SGHC Championship Show scheduled for 29th May 2026.
This has unfortunately been a result of the Committee being faced with having no Show Sub Committee after the AGM – as previously advised in the last Facebook post. Without the skills and experience of a Show Sub Committee, it is impossible to prepare and deliver a show that will meet the quality both members and the RKC expect.
Next steps will be for the Committee to evaluate options after the AGM. In the meantime, the Committee would welcome a discussion with anyone who would be prepared to be co-opted to help run shows.

Welcome to the website of the Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club
Founded in 1923, the Club’s objectives are:
- To ensure the continued purity of the Saluki breed
- To encourage the exhibition of the breed by obtaining classes for it at suitable shows and by giving special prizes
- To retain the inherent working skills of the breed by encouraging suitable activities
- To ensure the well-being of both individual Salukis and the breed as a whole (cross-breeding between Salukis and other sight hounds being discouraged)
