The committee positively welcomes your correspondence and feedback etc on the way
the club is managed or any other issues that you may wish to be addressed, however
to enable the committee to be able to give items full consideration and facilitate
addition to the agenda and circulation to the committee, we would request that all
items are with the Secretary at least ten days in advance of the meeting. Items
received after the ten days will be carried over to the next meeting unless urgent.

The date of future committee meetings will be announced in the Dog Press breednotes
and posted on the Club website.

Notice regarding SGHC Annual General Meeting
At the AGM, held on 21st March 2010, Item 14 on the Agenda was the following proposal:
To propose a vote to members for amendment to Rule 7.m. – Committee attendance.
The amendment to read as follows:
7(m) 'Unless there are extenuating circumstances the nine elected Committee members shall
attend the majority of Club Shows and the majority of Committee Meetings throughout the year.
Failing to do so they should resign from the Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club Committee to enable
others to take their place. Should a Committee member fail to attend three consecutive shows
or meetings without proper explanation of extenuating circumstances and they have not
followed the above procedure, they may be removed from their position on the committee and
the committee may co-opt to fill the resulting vacancy. Such co-optee to remain in office until
the next election.’

In order for Item 14 to be passed a 2/3rds majority of votes was required, on a show of hands,
based upon Rule 8.e. The voting procedure was followed with 22 members voting in favour of
the motion and 7 members voting against the motion. This gives a majority greater than the
2/3rds required by the rules of the Club, so the proposal was carried. Unfortunately, there was
some confusion at the time the vote took place so the rule change was not declared to the
meeting. However, the procedure and the count was correctly minuted therefore we are now
obliged to advise members of this change to the Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club rules.
